Web Design: hiBOXER

This was a project for Pacific University’s recruiter, Jeff Grundon to help with the recruiting efforts in Hawaii. Pacific University’s undergraduate student population is comprised of more than 20% students from Hawaii and a lot of them (including myself) didn’t get the chance to check out the campus, much less, the state of Oregon before we made the transition from a land of pineapples to pine cones.

I worked with Joel Magallanes on this project. Our strengths complimented each other well, as Joel took on most of the production work, while taking care of the organization, content gathering as well as some video editing, while I was responsible for the creative design, and programming of the site.

Brand Identity: Madi Cosmetics

Makeup artist/hair stylist, Madi Roosevelt knows her craft. She has done hair and makeup for MTV show “Made” and published in magazines including Shape Magazine. Along with doing hair and makeup for some of my test shoots, Madi has also worked with other local agency models. Madi developed her own mix of custom blends makeup. I worked with her to create a very simple logo that would emulate her clean and precise style as well as something that would look good printed on smaller cosmetics packaging.

Brand Identity: Ian James

Singer, songwriter, producer, Ian James is “that guy next door.” At first glance, there’s nothing about him that screams for attention. A clean-cut white guy wearing a white v-neck shirt, some faded jeans and a cap is all you see when you look at Ian James. But it’s not what you see, it’s what you hear. Listening to his soulful voice is what turns heads. His voice is what demands your attention. A mix of JT and Musiq Soul Child, with a little bit of Stevie Wonder is what Ian James sounds like. He’s got that soulful gospel vibe but can also rock the house with his club tracks.

So when coming up with a design for his marketing materials, I worked with Cupid Alexander of Alexander Media group to portray the simple side of him. The one that doesn’t scream “Here, look at me! I’m gonna sing.” It’s a design that sorta fades into the background and let’s his talent, his music do the talking. Below is the album art for his business card design and free giveaway cd for the First Thursday event in the Pearl District of Portland.
